Kill Japanese Beetles & Eggs

Get Rid of Japanese Beetles Naturally Without Chemical Pesticides Using Our Organic Cedar Oil Insecticide

The Japanese beetle is an almost robotic eating machine that poses a serious threat to about 200 species of plants, including rose bushes, food crops, and many ornamental trees and shrubs. Adults are a brilliant metallic green, generally oval in outline, 3/8 inch (8 to 11 mm) long and 1/4 inch (5 to 7 mm) wide. Their hardened wing covers are copper in color. The larvae look like typical white grubs that adopt a C-shape when disturbed. A good soil soak with our organic concentrate early in the spring will help kill eggs and larvae and stop the vicious cycle of destruction.

As if the damage caused by adults wasn’t enough, the Japanese Beetle grub is particularly skilled at destroying lawns and turf. To complicate matters, Japanese Beetles have no natural predators in the United States, and they are spreading westward at an alarming rate. Although they are known as clumsy fliers, they can easily travel up to 5 miles, destroying an abundance of favorable food plants in their path.

One of the best ways to eradicate an established Japanese beetle population is to kill every one you see. Not only will this reduce the population that will deposit grubs on your property; it will also prevent adult beetles from releasing aggregation pheromones which attract additional adults to new food sources. Start the collection process early in the morning when the beetles are more sluggish. Simply pluck them off plants and deposit them into a bucket of soapy water. The soap will weigh them down and help keep them in the water long enough to drown. For more intense killing power, add a few drops of cedar oil or tea tree oil to the bucket.

The next best way to eradicate the adult Japanese beetle is to confuse its senses and keep it from landing in your territory in the first place. This can be accomplished with the application of powerfully scented essential oils. Since the Japanese beetle has developed a resistance to a number of chemical pesticides, a good organic formula is worth its weight in gold. If you’re exasperated by ineffective chemicals or homespun dish soap remedies that just don’t seem to curtail the problem, it’s time for a powerful organic insecticide that won’t poison flowers, taint vegetables or harm humans.

While many essential oils are used against Japanese beetles in organic farming applications, our cedar oil formulation is among the most powerful. Cedar oil is a BASE NOTE. In the world of aroma therapy and perfume making, a top note is defined as the first scent you detect in a perfume blend. The base note is the lingering essence that stays with you long after the top note has faded!

If you’re considering using specially designed traps that release pheromones or food scents to lure beetles, beware that most modern studies suggest such traps attract even more beetles to areas that need protection most. Traps can also attract other plant eating insects to your property. When using traps, be sure to keep them downwind and place them in areas very far away from the food sources you’re trying to protect.

Our Formula Works in Many Ways:

  • Repels a wide variety of insects with an intense cedar aroma
  • Erodes the exoskeleton of insects, contributing to early demise
  • Dissolves eggs on contact, but not by proximity. (Eggs must come in direct contact with the formula, not just the vapors.)
  • Masks the scent trails that many insects use to communicate, coordinate and flourish
  • Discourages new insects from moving into treated territory
